Intermodal transport, what is it?

Intermodal transport makes it possible to transport exceptional loads from place of origin to place of destination using two or more types of means of transport. This mode of shipping and transport makes it possible to optimise the loads, reducing both the waste of resources and the pollution produced by the vehicles, avoiding road bridges with limited loading capacity.

Boarding and shipping on river barges

The embarkation on river barges of full loads is managed with the help of hydraulic cranes or hydraulic gantry systems. River transport is mainly used for the following types of goods, such as products of the petrochemical industry, bulk cargo and exceptional loads.
Thanks to an innovative technical equipment, Marraffa ensures the loading with certified lashing that guarantee the river transport of a wide range of goods to their destination.
