Marraffa in the launch of the first mega yacht built in Taranto
Exceptional transport and handling for the nautical sector
Marraffa enters the history of Apulian boating: the leading company in the sector of exceptional transport, heavy lifting and industrial handling is proud to have taken part in the launch of the first mega yacht entirely built in Taranto.
Marraffa in fact carried out the handling of the hull from the shed in which it was built to the dock, thanks to the use of 3 Goldhofer modular vehicles (SPMTs) for a total of 14 axles.

Subsequently, the aluminum superstructure was lifted, positioning it above the steel hull. Once the two parts were welded, the yacht was lifted thanks to the use of our Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 and an LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane and positioned in the water for the ritual checks, before leaving the Mar Piccolo towards Livorno for finishing and fittings.
The mega yacht, called FB616, is 50 m long and weighs 220 tonnes and was built in 12 months in the Buffoluto shipyards, thanks to the collaboration of three different companies (Sgm S.r.l., Sea Style Company S.p.A. and Costruzioni Generali S.r.l. ) for Azimut Benetti.
