Crane lifting of a large tent structure in Bagnoli, Italy
Two Marraffa cranes with a 400-tonne lifting capacity were used to lift the large tent structure.
A large tensile structure was used to set up a clean-up site at the former Eternit factory in Bagnoli. To lift it, two all-terrain cranes with a capacity of 400 tonnes provided by Marraffa were used, on which a lifting jib had to be installed.
This activity highlighted all the professional and technological skills of Marraffa's staff, who specialise in exceptional transport and lifting. Marraffa personnel are highly professional in the lifting sector, thanks to a constantly growing and updated fleet of machines. Marraffa offers crane rental throughout Italy and Europe, providing highly specialised and constantly trained personnel.
The lifting of the large tent structure required the simultaneous use of two Marraffa all-terrain cranes with a capacity of 400 tonnes. The client also required the rental of telescopic handlers and aerial platforms, which were provided by Werent, a company specialised in the rental of machines for lifting goods and people.
The tent structure in question will be an integral part of a site for the cleaning up of the land of the former Eternit factory in Bagnoli, in the province of Naples, thanks to which it will be possible to adopt all the prevention and mitigation measures for any possible spread of airborne asbestos fibres. The works to complete the reclamation consist mainly in the removal and disposal of materials containing asbestos in the area's subsoil and, at the same time, in the removal of portions of land also contaminated by other pollutants (heavy metals, organic pollutants).
In fact, not only does the reclamation of an area polluted by asbestos take place, making it fully usable and compatible with the new uses, but an integrated method of intervention is put in place that provides for the cleaning up of the soil, the monitoring of airborne fibres and the relative public communication of the data.
