Marraffa awarded at ILTA 2023

Important recognition for Marraffa, winner of the "Exceptional transport of the year with trailer/semi-trailer total mass over 120 tons" award at the ILTA 2023. The event, held as part of the GIS (Italian Days of Lifting and Exceptional Transport) in Piacenza, rewards the excellence of the exceptional transport and lifting market, recognizing values of merit such as technological development and professionalism.

The activity being submitted concerns the transport of 82 items for the assembly of the “Barbara” TBM (used in the excavation of the continuation tunnel of the Brenner Base Tunnel for the upgrading of the Munich-Verona railway axis) for the Dolomiti Consortium Webuild Implenia.

The jury awarded the prize to Marraffa with these reasons: "The experience gained by Marraffa in this field was instrumental in tackling this transport work entirely by road from Marghera to the construction site in Varna (BZ), with a high number of loads that reached a total of 2,000 tons, large dimensions and a demanding route in planning and execution".

Michele Marraffa, company administrator, commented: “This award is a certificate of esteem for the work that our team puts in every day. What makes me most satisfied is the number of young people I met during this edition of the GIS. We must make the new generations understand that exceptional transport is a noble, challenging job that can reward the will of many young people. And it is thanks to this willpower that every day we contribute to building something important for our country".
