The flying catamaran challenge in Taranto with Marraffa and Werent
It is called Italy Sail Grand Prix and it is the only Italian SailGp event. In Taranto 8 F50 flying catamarans challenged each other in the Ionian Sea. On board were the greatest stars of world sailing: Olympic medallists, world champions, ocean race sailors and America's Cup winners from Australia, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Spain and the United States.
A number of Marraffa cranes were used to set up the Italy Sail Grand Prix stage in Taranto, lowering the boats into the sea and setting up the structures and boxes for the respective formations.
Marraffa cranes of 220, 130 and 60 tons were used, while Werent delivered for hire telescopic handlers, forklifts, vertical platforms, self-propelled articulated platforms, golf cars and vans.
SailGP is an adrenaline-fuelled sporting competition, with crazy speeds and no environmental impact or emissions. A commitment to the environment that joins that of the Marraffa-Werent Group companies.
